FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Western New York Restaurant Announces Sam Elliott Appreciation Day
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Actor Sam Elliott will be celebrated on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at a small bar in the city of Jamestown, New York.
The inaugural “Sam Elliott Appreciation Day” will be held at Forte the Restaurant and is scheduled to coincide with the actor’s 73rd birthday.
Sam Elliott is the voice heard in commercials for the beer Coors Banquet, and is admired by many for his decades of work in the movie industry. From “Tombstone” and “The Big Lebowski” to “Road House,” “Mask” and so many more, Elliott is instantly recognizable for his lanky physique and trademark bushy mustache. His deep, resonant voice combined with his slow Western drawl has throughout the years earned him casting as cowboys and ranchers — though he had also appeared in everything from political thrillers to superhero action flicks.
“Our appreciation of both Sam Elliott and Coors Banquet goes back several years,” said Nick Dean, bar manager at Forte. “We realized our mutual appreciation for the actor when we first started stocking the Coors Banquet stubby bottles, and our enjoyment of that beer and Sam Elliott’s movie career soon became a bond of sorts between staff members.”
For Sam Elliott Appreciation Day, Forte will be encouraging mustache selfies, Sam Elliott cosplay and the restaurant will be providing special coloring pages as well as a postcard station to send the man a birthday message!
Jamestown, N.Y. is home to the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz center and is also now the site of the new National Comedy Center. The event at Forte on Aug. 9 comes just days after the conclusion of the Lucy Comedy Fest, which brings thousands to the city for all manner of standup performances, lectures, workshops and headliners like Jim Gaffigan, Kevin James — and in past years: Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Lewis Black, Nick Offerman and Joan Rivers.
“Sam Elliott’s appeal spans generations,” said Margaret Kaltenmeier, owner of Forte. “Women adore him. Men want to be him. He’s got swagger and an effortless style, entertaining Americans for generations. I can’t imagine a better reason to celebrate someone’s existence!”
Celebrate Sam Elliott’s birthday with Forte and a cold Coors Banquet from 5 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9!
